LTL Carriers Announce Rate Increases

 

A number of large U.S. LTL carriers have recently announced rate increases.  The increases impact non contract freight and act as the base for future contract negotiations.

 

Carriers announcing rate increases include:

 

o   ABF Freight                                      6.9% effective July 25, 2011

o   Con-way Freight                              6.9% effective August 1, 2011

o   Estes Express Lines                        6.9% effective August 8, 2011      

o   FedEx Freight                                   6.75% effective September 6, 2011

o   Hercules Freight                              5.95% effective August 1, 2011

o   New England Motor Freight           6.9% effective August 1, 2011

o   New Penn Motor Freight                6.9% effective August 1, 2011

o   Oak Harbor Freight Lines               6.9% effective August 1, 2011

o   Roadrunner Transportation           6.9% effective August 15, 2011

o   Southeastern Freight                      6.9% effective August 22, 2011

o   UPS Freight                                      6.9% effective August 1, 2011

o   USF Carriers                                     6.9% effective August 1, 2011

o   YRC                                                   6.9% effective August 1, 2011
