FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YOUR OLD FRIEND IN THE TRANSBORDER MARKET IS GETTING A FACE LIFT Fort Erie, ON, September 12, 1997 - After nearly 60 years of service to the Motor Carrier industry in both Canada and the United States, the Niagara Frontier Tariff Bureau, Inc., announces it is changing its’ name. “Our role in the marketplace has been changing over the past few years. It has become increasingly important that we communicate to the public at-large that we are no longer just a ‘tariff bureau’ but rather a forum where users and providers of motor carrier services develop solutions.”
For this reason, the Board of Directors decided to send a meaningful signal that we remain a vibrant organization, continuing to expand our service offerings in the North American marketplace, by changing our name to “NORTH AMERICAN TRANSPORTATION COUNCIL” (NATC).
We put our knowledge and expertise in all matters affecting the transborder market to good use, and over the past few years have broadened our array of products and services for the providers and users of motor carriage in Canada and the United States. Our information based services are increasingly important and relevant in this ‘age of information’ as both Canadian and US shippers and carriers realize that to be successful in the transborder market one must recognize it is not just an extension of domestic operations. Micheline Tansey, President of the North American Transportation Council commented:
While rate research and tariff development remain an important part of our core competencies, we have expanded the scope of our products and services to address the informational needs of shippers and carriers. We have gone far beyond rating software development.
In the transborder market, we are the only organization offering the high quality array of microcomputer tools for rating, auditing, quote management, division of revenue, zip/postal code lookup, RFQ packages and the like. Most importantly, we have developed a solid reputation for providing our customers on a timely basis with high quality, up-to-date information and data bases. Another unique service offered is our benchmarking surveys, providing shippers and carriers with valuable information to evaluate their performance with that of similarly situated competitors, all with absolute confidentiality!
These are exciting times for us. Over the past few years, we have listened closely to our carrier and shipper customers and we worked hard to transform ourselves from a highly respected tariff publishing agent to a partner in problem solving.
Many more exciting new products and services will be introduced this year. For a full listing of our offerings, call us or visit our Web site at: http://www.fca-nftb.org.
